I must have picked up this book about twenty times with a view to buying it but was always put off by the simplistic black and white art style. In the end I decided to take a risk and bought it anyways. The art really is very simplistic and comic like but the stories themselves are actually very good. Queen and country is about a British secret service agency (SIS) that often operates outside the law. In particular it concentrates on the three minders that form the SIS’s elite squad. It’s classic espionage stuff with some nice twists and modern day themes. I enjoyed this first volume comprising of “Operation Broken Ground”, “Operation Morning Star” and “”Operation Crystal Ball” but I am not sure I liked it enough to buy any further volumes. The artwork really is a bit of a turnoff. [ISBN – 978-1-932664-87-4]. 6/10
